I have studied bolted joints for some time and written my own spread sheet to compute bolt and material stresses. When I saw this tool, it followed all the theoretical principals which I believed to be valid and when I compared the results to my own, they were very close. One utility that the spread sheet has is the ability to enter data for multiple diameter bolts. Also one can enter an arbitrary diameter and pitch. User materials can be entered as well. A very useful spread sheet for single bolt calculations.
Straightforward. Nice work, yet it should exist a simpler version for academic purposes.
My review Yesterday i've downloaded mitcalc-bolted connection and I'm glad & very much appreciate that you've been formulate this program of yours. It's very useful to everyone specaily for those person works us ours.
Thank you very much, I do hope for your additional tool and software you've been made.
As of this time I'm trying to study the software.
If you can guide me it's very useful for me.
Best regards.

I am looking for Rack & pinion gear calculation.how i can use this sheet to get required information.
The program works very well. I will evaluate it a little further before deciding whether to purchase as it appears far in excess of what I need
Dear Sir/Madam,Before buying your software I checked the demo. of your module for spur and helical gears calculations.Unfortunately the only option I found is calculations without errors, means I could not check tolerances/deviations of dimensions over pins subiect to backlash limits or even change backlash in the table and receive result to this data (all data are for \"0\" backlash without any possibility for changes), posibility to modify tooth thickness and get the dimension over oins or span over teeth, entering DIN or ISO or AGMA quality grade and receive tooth errors/deviations etc.In case there ...
We are looking for program to check existing set of gears, unfortunately Spur Gear Calculations 1.16 do not support this type of calculations.Regards,Steve
MITcalc review Your spreadsheets for Metric-ISO gear design are very good. But we badly need a good comprehensive textbook in English. It seems that the only good books are in German. I bought 4 of your gear design spreadsheets. Thanks for your good work.Prof. Hatem Radwan
MITCalc Review It is a quite easy-to-use spreadsheet. The main advantage is that it is like an algorithm; if you follow it step by step, you will end up to a result. Its disadvantage is that it doesn't comply with other standards, like DIN and ISO, and it could be as an option. Nevertheless, it is quite good for solving simple pair of gears, and the results are more than satisfactory. I use it mainly to have a preliminary calculation before I turn to the original AGMA analytical calculations (that is, all the background calculations that the spreadsheet does) or to check ...

A useful tool, I used it to check an existing calculation. However it takes a while to understand how to use it. Overall I'd say its good and I'll use again.

nice workveerachari,Design engineer
the program is not working !!!!!
even a bricklayer can.... I hope to enter my 90' Lincoln Mark Vii in the 100 mpg race next year. I needed a way to redesign my AOD transmission for racing and I couldn't get my modeling software to derive the design. MITCalc was easy to figure out, even for this bricklayer. I hope to have the fastest car and contribute to helping America climb out of this economic delima. Check out my progress at w.w.w dot evloansfor dot us
Updation We already bought the MITcalc software an year ago. In that there is no planet gear option. The newly developed is very useful for us. Can we get free update for Mitcalc.

It is not applicable for my design work.
hello!I tried do download your software but coldn\'t...so i found anotherone...but thank you anyway...Best regards!Jost
Excellent Value in Easy to use Program The program seems to be well laid out and easy to use. Speeds up the calculations a lot when determining splined connections. Simple features but were the same as the program description.
Straight Spline The options for the straight splines didn't go large enough for what I was looking for. There were no options for dimensions based on the spline fit you want. The program looks like it could be very usefull.
Ease and functionality. It was hard to get to the proper involute spline data, a reference of the sizing and callouts would be helpful. Could not get it to work inside inventor routing 2008. Could not get an output shaft drawing with splines on it.
MitCalc Couldn't thoroughly try it but seems to be a very useful tool.
